IEEE President Description

The IEEE President is elected by the voting members of IEEE and shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the IEEE and shall preside at meetings of the IEEE Board of Directors and the IEEE Assembly. This position is a three-year commitment; one year as President-Elect; one year as President; and one year as Past President. The IEEE President, President-Elect and Past President also serve as members of the IEEE Board of Directors, the governing body of IEEE. (IEEE President Position Description, PDF 220 KB)

The IEEE Board of Directors is the governing body of the IEEE.  Directors serving on the Board may have additional specific duties chairing standing committees of the Board, or within the Major Organizational Units. (IEEE Board of Directors Position Description, PDF 208 KB)
